Des Moines, IA – Today, Nunn for Congress released a new TV ad titled “Uniform.” The ad is the first from Team Nunn to be aired during the general election. The ad focuses on state senator and Lt. Col Zach Nunn, highlighting his service in the U.S. Air Force, deployments to the Middle East and decorations for saving U.S. lives. Nunn will take his record and experiences to the U.S. House to focus on the issues that matter to Iowans – national and border security, inflation, jobs and education.
“Team Nunn is going up with a positive ad because that’s what we’re running on and that’s what Iowans are looking for. We’re tired of the divisive, misleading ads that we’ve seen come out of the Axne campaign – it’s been months of negative ads, at a cost of approximately one million dollars, that have actually seen Axne fall in the polls. It’s time for change in Washington, and we need more veterans in Congress who know how to put service before self. Zach has a record of delivering results in Iowa with historic tax cuts, pro-job and public safety policies like criminal justice reform and anti-human trafficking. It’s time to take what has worked so well in Iowa and bring it to Washington D.C.” – Josh Treat, campaign manager
The ad can be watched below:
“In the Air Force, I flew over 700 combat hours and received defense decorations for saving U.S. Forces.
The military instills patriotism, courage and service above self. These are the values I’ll bring to Washington.
I’ll work across the aisle to get results, stand up to special interests, and always put Iowans first. I’m Zach Nunn, I approve this message because I’ll fight for you in Congress just as hard as I fought for you in uniform.”
More about Zach Nunn:
Zach Nunn is a veteran, state senator, father, husband and Iowan. As a combat veteran, Zach served our country as an airborne intelligence officer in the United States Air Force. After 9/11, he deployed three times to the Middle East and flew over 700 combat hours.
Following his military service, Zach was elected to the Iowa House of Representatives and later the Iowa Senate. Nunn has ousted Democratic incumbents twice, including in 2018, when his campaign flipped a decades-long Democrat-held seat by 12%, in Polk County (IA-03). After a decisive win in a competitive primary, Cook Political Report and Sabato Ball changed this congressional seat from “Toss-Up” to “Lean R”. Zach was also named to the National Republican Congressional Committee’s (NRCC) Young Guns program, which determines the top U.S. House recruits nationally.
Zach and his family are sixth generation Iowans – a family of teachers, nurses, and farmers built on a century of hard work on the land. Zach has chosen to continue living in Iowa and is a father to four school-aged children and a husband to Kelly.
